Our Mission & Vision
We trust in and proclaim Christ Jesus as Lord and Savior and believe that through Him all things are made new. Placing our hope and faith in Christ, we recognize opportunities and envision new possibilities as we unite the congregations of the Argenta United Methodist and Argenta Presbyterian Churches. Together, we will worship, witness, and work to build up the Kingdom of God, in our community and beyond. We will continue to honor our denominational ties and identities and the strong foundations they have given us to build upon. We gladly accept Christ’s call to love and serve our neighbors, to invite them to know Christ as we do, to nourish their spiritual growth alongside our own, and to equip and empower one another as members of the Body of Christ to use our gifts and talents in ministry and service to the Church and the world, so that God’s Holy name will be glorified.
Our Leaders
Senior Pastor, Bob Baker
Hi! My name is Bob Baker. I am the pastor here at The Bridge Fellowship. I
entered local church ministry at the age of 49. I had been fairly active in church most of my life. But, a couple crises in life brought me to a place of searching for “a power greater than myself.” I was blessed to have had a spiritual experience on a three day retreat called Walk to Emmaus.
In the 4th chapter of Luke, Jesus is given the scroll from the prophet Isaiah. He unrolls it and reads these words: “The Spirit of the LORD is upon me, for he has anointed me to bring Good News to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim that captives will be released, that the blind will see, that the oppressed will be set free, and that the time of the LORD’s favor has come.
I believe that is just a few versus,Jesus proclaims the very good news that is available to every one of us through a relationship with Christ Jesus. I pray that you will join me on a journey of faith that will lead you to the healing power of the Lord of Life.

Our Church
The Bridge Fellowship is certainly an appropriate name for our community of faith. First, we have built a bridge between the congregations of Argenta’s Presbyterian and United Methodist Churches. We have come together with the mission of nurturing followers of Jesus. Second, we believe that all people are children of God and created in God’s image. Third, we have a passion for sharing the Good News of Jesus with our friends and neighbors. That especially includes reaching out to young families. And fourth, we were blessed by past generations that have given us rich resources for spreading the Gospel of Jesus. We envision beginning an after school children’s program soon.
Please come and join with us as we continue to build bridges between the Lord of Life and God’s children of all ages, ethnicity, gender and orientation.
Believing that we have been led by God to unite in our efforts to advance His kingdom on earth, we, the members of the Argenta United Methodist Church and the Argenta Presbyterian Church of Argenta, Illinois, declare our faith in each other and hereby express our wish that our unity in Christ may be more complete and that, continually, our service in His name may be more effective.
